The French Riviera, known in France as the Côte d'Azur, boasts a sub-tropical climate, sandy beaches, vineyards, and an average of 300 days of sunshine a year. World-class museums, the Nice Carnival, Cannes Film Festival, and the Monaco Grand Prix make the French Riviera an exciting Mediterranean region in which to study abroad. Discovered by Greek sailors around 400 BC, over the years the French Rivera has attracted the likes of Ernest Hemingway, Gertrude Stein, Coco Chanel, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Pablo Picasso -- all regular visitors to this stunning locale.
Follow in some very illustrious footsteps as you explore the people and culture of the French Riviera, one of the most multi-cultural areas of France. Enjoy excursions to exciting destinations like Nice, Monte Carlo, Cannes, and St. Tropez. Improve your knowledge of French language and culture through CEA activities such as wine tasting, French cuisine sessions, pottery painting, and perfume making. Spring students also can apply to participate in an internship at the Cannes Film Festival.
