Program Overview

Your CIEE Semester Global Internship program in Barcelona lasts 12 weeks and features three key components: a full-time internship with an international organization (approximately 30 hours per week), an internship seminar, and the option to take a course taught online through CIEE's global academic partner, ASU. Enhance your experience with cultural and extracurricular activities while building career skills, expanding your professional network, and immersing yourself in Spanish culture. Samples of past excursions and activities:

  • Visit some of the most emblematic neighborhoods in Barcelona to immerse yourself in the local culture
  • Go on a business-related visit to learn about production and management in a local Spanish factory
  • Take a day trip and hike in Montserrat, a Benedictine monastery retreat high atop one of the most spectacular mountain ranges in Catalunya
